Michaela was born and raised in Namibia. Noah was born in Illinois. Today, they call Wisconsin home—or wherever God sends them to tell the next story.

Michaela studied acting and screenwriting at AFDA in Cape Town, South Africa, but her deep love for storytelling began long before film school. She grew up on a farm in Namibia, where her dad—still her favorite storyteller—would spin wildly imaginative adventure stories around the campfire or at bedtime, making them up as he went along. Movies, meanwhile, were a rare and magical event. Electricity on the farm came courtesy of a diesel generator, which her dad fired up in the evenings. And when he did, the television in her Oma’s living room flickered to life and, for a little girl with a big imagination, so did another world. From as early as she can remember, Michaela dreamed of being inside those stories—preferably as the actress, of course. God, as it turns out, had a slightly different seating arrangement in mind. He eventually called her from in front of the camera to behind it, where she discovered that telling other people’s stories was the thing she loved most. This now, is her happy place.

Noah enjoyed a robust childhood as the second youngest of six children in southeastern Wisconsin, frequently working on creative projects with his siblings, and putting on plays for older family members in Grandma’s living room. He studied classical guitar at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in Milwaukee, discovered his enjoyment for tap dancing, and spent years traveling and performing with his folk-rock band, Ticklepenny Corner. Noah also served as a youth minister before marrying Michaela, and later built a career as Duke Otherwise, a beloved children’s musician and performer.  In high school he made a full-length movie that he edited on a VHS VCR, and sold to his classmates for $5! (He has not mustered up the courage to show "this embarrassing film” to Michaela yet!)

Their creative paths merged when Michaela founded No Greater Love Productions in 2017, and Noah joined her in the mission of capturing the stories of God’s laid-down lovers.  Today, Michaela serves as Director, Producer, and Cinematographer on their films, as well as CEO of No Greater Love Productions. Noah serves as Co-Producer, Editor, and Sound Recordist—shaping each story through picture and sound.

Their gifts are wonderfully different, yet deeply complementary. Where one has a gap, the other often fills it. And after years of creating side by side, they still genuinely love working together and regard each other as closest of friends.

More than anything, Michaela and Noah share a simple desire: to love and serve the Lord and others with joyful hearts, to raise their children to walk in His ways, and to go wherever Jesus sends them—seeking out the stories He is writing through His people and faithfully telling them with the gifts He has given them, for His purposes and His glory.
